International Conventions for nature conservation

  • Convention on Biological Diversity - signed in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) on June 5, 1992, ratified by RF in 1994.

  • Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat (Ramsar Convention) - signed in Ramsar (Iran) on February 2, 1971, with amendments adopted on December 3, 1982 (Paris).

  • Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats (Bern Convention) - signed on September 19, 1979 in Bern (Switzerland).

  • Convention on the protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes - signed in Helsinki on March 17, 1992, entered into force by the Decree of the RF Government No 331 dated April 13, 1993.

  • Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context - signed in Espoo (Finland) on February 5, 1991.
