3.1. - Publishing programme "Our Lake Ladoga"

Aim

Raising respectful attitude and care for natural values of Lake Ladoga

Tasks

  1. Raising environmental literacy among various population strata from schoolchildren to the government officials in charge of the regional development.

  2. Developing the interest in the region's nature and history, transforming tourism into a form of exciting and educating excursions.

  3. Developing the capacity for esthetical perception of the Lake Ladoga nature.

Activities

  1. Popular science book "Problems of Lake Ladoga": vol. - 130 p., 3000 copies

  2. Pocket guidebook for tourists "Our Ladoga": 10 000 copies

  3. Calendar "Our Ladoga": vol. - 13 p., format - A3, 5000 copies

Duration of the project - 24 months

Budget

  1. - 28 000 EURO

  2. - 33 400 EURO

  3. - 11 300 EURO

Notes:

  1. When making the budget the preparation of a large number of colour illustrations (photographs, diagrams, figures) was taken into account.

  2. A considerable part of the money invested can be reinvested in other projects after the edition is sold.

  3. This report is supplied with photos produced by the project developer

3.2. - TV Project "Lake Ladoga"

Aim

Raising respectful attitude and care for natural values of Lake Ladoga

Tasks

  1. To raise public awareness of the Ladoga region values and problems

  2. To ensure preservation of typical examples of biological and landscape diversity

  3. To minimise negative anthropogenic impacts

Activities

  1. Preparation, filming and release of 10 episodes (5 min each) within the BFN TV programme "ECO" ("Russia" TV channel)

  2. Preparation, filming and release of 20 news stories from various areas of the Ladoga region (1 - 1.5 min each) for the "Vesti" news-programme ("Russia" TV channel)

  3. Production of a video film "Lake Ladoga - problems and solutions" (40 min) where i. a. the first results of co-operation with WWF will be illustrated and priority steps to ensure sustainable development of the region will be explained
